Please be reminded that by confirming your booking you are agreeing to the following conditions:
Lessons are run in a natural unheated outside ocean pool. No harmful chemicals! It does mean that the water temps do vary according to mother nature and we do highly recommend that students wear a wetsuit during their swim lesson (steamers or spring suits). Silicone swimming caps are also great for retaining warmth. Don’t worry, wearing wetsuits will not impede their swimming!
Students at Mermaid Swim Academy may be photographed for promotional material for the swim school such as newsletters, social media and brochures. You can specify if you would not like photos of your child to be taken or not taken.
Pool entry to Bondi Icebergs is separate to swimming fees and is paid directly to the pool. Adult casual swim entry is $9.00 or you can purchase a 25 Adult Swim pass for $170. Child casual swim entry is $6.00 or 25 visit pass is $115. Children under the age of 2 years enter free. Anyone wishing to spectate, a spectator fee of $4 is charged at pool entry, alternatively, you can enter the pool complex for free if you are proceeding to the Crabbe Hole Cafe for a coffee or feed (just let the front desk know).
We have a NO REFUND policy. Once you have confirmed your child’s lessons we have reserved that spot and teacher for your child for the entire term. If your child misses a lesson for any reason they will not be entitled to makeup their missed lesson. However, if your child is unable to complete the term due to unexpected illness or injury and you are able to give the swim school at least 1 week’s notice, we will do our best to reallocate your child’s lesson and issue a credit for the remainder of the term however this is not always possible and not guaranteed. We do try to accommodate all of our swimmers and try our best to offer a make up where we can on a case by case basis. In the event, the swim school cancels a term or course and we are not able to provide you with a suitable alternative for your child, we will happily arrange a refund or credit.
There is a NO MAKEUP policy for missed lessons due to illness or injury. The swim school may be able to assist however the swim school is not obliged to offer makeups or credits for missed lessons.
Lessons run RAIN, HAIL, SURF, SHINE. Even in the event of impending thunderstorms or predicted huge surf, assume lessons are on. You will be contacted if lessons need to be cancelled and missed lessons will be rescheduled for each student during the current term.
